When I got introduced to Digital ID a few years ago, the first thing I thought was Clear is in trouble! At the time the fee was $99 dollars for clear due to Medallion status. Slowly but surely, the price increased to $149, then $169 and now $199.
My American Express Platinum card covers the fee so it's not a burden currently but the question for someone else would be, why pay for clear when I can have Digital ID for free?
Clear and Digital ID are used at Delta and United predominantly but one currently has no fee and the other taps in at nearly $200. Well it seems like Clear was a few steps ahead on their thinking and has expanded Internationally.
On a recent trip to Amsterdam, I got an email to Bypass the lines at the airport. I had no clue Clear had expanded outside of the U.S and it was a welcoming site. I chose not to sign up for the feature for two reasons: As a Skyteam Elite member I have expedited lanes already and the other is T-mobile internet does not work as advertised when traveling as it wasn't for most of this trip.
When I researched further, it said they had expanded into several international Airports which is good. Looking forward to using Clear on a future trip outside the country.
How was your experience been, using Clear Internationally?
One more thing, if your into Clear, there running a promotion now where you can get the Founders Card complementary for 12 months when signing up, look it up.
