Concrete Plant Park was once a concrete plant here in the Longwood section of the Bronx up until its closure in 1987. Since then, the 7.39-acre space sat abandoned without use. The space was acquired by NYC parks in 2000. With a partnership between the Bronx River Alliance and the Parks Department, a full restoration went on of the park until its completion in 2009.
I biked the entire park and walked around to view activities. There is a neighborhood garden with cucumbers and tomatoes as well as other treats. A launchpad for canoes if you're interested in kayaking along the Bronx River Corridor and even a movie night at times throughout the year.
