I've only used this feature for Delta airlines but I also heard its an option for United.
In JFK particularly, its the fastest way to the front of the line in security. The times i've been at the airport, they even let you in ahead of the Clear members. I was really excited when I first used this feature last Thanksgiving as it saved me some valued minutes.
