I first wanted to go to Krakow in 2017. At the time, I worked in a company that had its third location in Krakow and I thought it would be my best option to fulfill my dreams of being abroad. Even though life had other plans and it took me eight years am glad I made it.
I landed at KRK Airport shortly before noon. I was almost an hour late but for anyone that flies into Krakow in the winter knows, visibility at the airport in the morning is at the mercy of the weather. Nonetheless, as I left baggage claim my driver was their name in hand. Before I knew it, I was in the center of the city.
A few hours later I set out on a walking tour, to get the lay of the land and figure out what I was gonna be looking at over the next five days. Here’s a list of notable places to visit in Krakow:
Oskar Schindler's Enamel Factory
Wavel RoyalCastle
St.Florians Gate

After touring, I walked around a bit. Looking at the nightlife and shopping offerings nearby. I walked back from Wavel Castle to the main square and popped in and out of most stores in between. I took pictures, I bought souvenirs and I was genuinely curious why even though it was minus 1 in temperature, people insisted on dinning outside.
Not wanting to brave the cold, I returned to my hotel where I got a two course meal. I had the famous Zurek for an appetizer and then followed up with a lamb and fois goie mixture with beat sauce. There was no need for desert as there was a welcome platter full of fruit and pastries in my room. (compliments of status)
Later that night I utilized the spa for a full body massage, possibly not one of the things you do after eating a tun of food but it was prebooked and I enjoyed it.
The next day, I got a hearty breakfast at Regale, the hotel’s restaurant before being picked up by my guide. Roughly two hours later we were at Auschrwitz. We spent two hours there before heading to Beirjarden. Listen I don’t need to go into detail of these tours but I will say, it’s something to experience in life. The experience will leave you better person.

The ride back alone is somber enough and I needed as much warmth as possible. I started with a hot shower, then the pool, then the sauna and finished off with a cold bath. Krakow by itself is a really nice city but staying at the Saski Hotel was the icing on the cake.
I plan on returning to Krakow in the future but definitely in the summer time. City gives off a cool bohemian vibe and I can’t wait to explore more of their many museums and restaurants.
