Schweizer Str. food festival

Updated: Sep 7, 2019

Although that might not be the official name of the festival, that was the name of the street it was on and how I spent my first day in Germany. I stumbled on the festival as a suggestion of an employee at the Staedel Museum.

I began immersing myself in German culture beginning with the food. My first meal was a Bratwurst with mustard in a hard roll with an ice cold refreshing Binding Römer Pilsner. The combo was a great representation of what to look forward to while in Germany. I literally went from tent to tent and tried everything. (Did I say I was a foodie? Well, Hi I'm a foodie)

Feinste hausgemachte kartoffelpuffer (homemade potato pancakes) and Erdbeer Bowle (wine punch made from Riesling and strawberries) were one of my favorite meals. There were live concerts and activities at the festival. The next meal was a brezel. (pretzel) The grand finale was a gelato and a smile!
