Any trip to Singapore begins with a flight on Singapore Airlines and trust me they do not dissapoint. I flew in from Malaysia on an hour flight and if the service is any indication of how their long haul flights are, I'm tempted to take the A380 from Newark to Singapore direct just for the experience.
I landed in Singapore and the first order of business was not to leave the airport but stay there. The Yotel at the airport is a convienient option for people with layovers and short trips to Singapore. I changed to Terminal 2 and checked my bags at the storage lockers. From the lockers, you're able to walk directly out into the Jewel.
As far as airports go, Singapore Changi Airport (SIN) is one of the best airports in the world and is well thought out. It also has a butterfly garden which is the second biggest attraction in the airport. Take a Grab into the city and head to Marina Bay. Everything in the city is here.

The Marina Bay Sands is an incredible sight. It's a hotel with a rooftop bar with so much more. You can get Sampan Rides (boat rides) in the basement of the mall. The Spectra Light and water show starting at 8:00pm is also a great experience. Although not apart of the Sands, the Gardens by the Bay is an impressive sight. It comes equipped with a music show and has an elevated walkway for those who dare.

After walking down Fullerton Bay I ended up at what seems to be a Hawker Market. It was one of the more packed ones I've seen in in the city. Chicken over rice is as Singapore as it gets.

I guarentee you the only thing I'm thinking about right now is how do I get to move to Singapore. City is clean, desirable and otherworldly and I can't wait to return.
