Why Brazil, why now?

Rio de Janeiro

Brazil has always been a bucket list destination of mine and it should be for everyone else. From the buzzing vibe of the Copacabana or the relaxing atmosphere of Ipanema beach, Brazil has it all.

For nature lovers, 60% of the Amazon is located in Brazil. Prefer historical sites? Christ the Redeemer is listed as one of the seven wonders of the world and São Paulo Brazil is one of the most architecturally rich cities in Brazil. It's also famous for boasting the world’s largest Japanese population outside of Japan.

Why Brazil, Why Now?

Brazil recently rolled out their E-Visa program to a few million people.

Australia – Since November 21st, 2017

Japan – January 11th, 2018

Canada – January 18th, 2018

United States – January 25th, 2018.

The E-visa costs $40.00 plus a small transaction fee and it replaces the former $160.00 Visa. This one, of course, is done at VFS Global and doesn’t require you to be without your passport at any time.

This is a great effort by the Brazilian government to increase the number of tourists that can visit Brazil. It reduces the hassles associated with the old visa process while streamlining a more efficient way of travel and increase the number of tourists. There actually going a step further and working on electronic gates, similar to Global Entry and APC that are to be rolled out in the future.

The visa is only valid for 2 years so go and make Brazil one of your 2018 travel destinations.

I know I will.
